David Herron is a writer, journalist, blogger, living in Silicon Valley. His focus is to inform people about clean energy systems, clean transportation, and the urgent need to switch from the old stone-age energy paradigm to a new one centered on electricity.
When not writing he indulges in software projects and is sometimes employed as a software engineer. David has written for sites like PlugInCars and TorqueNews, and worked for companies like Sun Microsystems, Yahoo and Recargo.
In the mid-1970's David was a high school student, and was very struck by the twin fake oil crises of that era. While that was an engineered geopolitical power game in which OPEC tried to gain leverage over the U.S.A., it demonstrated the risk of depending on fossil fuels. That caused David to remain interested in what we now know as Peak Oil.
Another clear risk of fossil fuel dependence is the clear changes happening to the climate. It seems now that every year is the warmest year on record, that the weather patterns are giving us extreme storm after extreme storm, and so on. How anyone can deny the climate is changing is a mystery.
