This slide deck raises a number of questions about proposed Fracking operations in North Carolina. The images below are a couple excerpts, for the rest see the slides.
For example - North Carolina had a disastrous experience with open sewage pits at Hog Farms that caused serious air pollution problems. They wonder whether the disposal of "produced water" from Frack jobs would pose a serious risk.
For example - the North Carolina shale deposits are very close in distance to the water table. Closer than industry best practice guidelines. And in any case, the actual experience in the field is that even when best practices are followed there is water contamination.
